Image titleMark you calendar Sunday May 8th is Mother's Day! Over the years I have taken my wife and  mom to a varies places around the Valley for Mothers Day.  If you have no idea where to take those special ladies check these places out... Just a few of my favorite ones!

Melting Pot

On May 8th between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Melting Pot will offer a four-course menu only. A mom dining with at least three other paid adults will receive a free Mother's Day meal. She will also receive a beautiful carnation and a tasty MOMosa. The Melting Pot is a gourmet fondue restaurant.

The Farm at South Mountain

Put on your best spring hat for a brunch under the pecan trees. Seatings from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Samples from the menu include Braised Beef Short Ribs, Chilled Shrimp, Garden Fresh Omelet Station, Pecan French Toast, and Coconut Cupcakes. Adults: $55.95 plus tax and production fee; children: pricing depends on age.

San Marcos Golf Resort

A Mother's Day Brunch Buffet on Sunday, May 8 will be offered from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. prepared by Executive Chef Aaron Geister includes roasted salmon, grilled chicken, vegetable benedicts, assorted quiche, a chef-prepared omelet station, salads, desserts and a kids buffet with mac and cheese, chicken strips, teriyaki chicken fingers and more. $44.95 plus 20% gratuity and 8.1% tax per person, $15.95 for kids ages 5-12, kids 4 and under free. Reservations suggested.

A special brunch from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mothers will also receive a complimentary rose, order of chocolate-covered strawberries and glass of champagne. The brunch menu will include a buffet-style starters table complete with house-smoked salmon, split crab legs, seafood-display oysters and fresh sliced seasonal fruit. Main dishes will include braised pork shank, grilled prime beef strip loin, rack of lamb and dried strawberry French toast. In addition to the champagne toast, the prix fixe menu includes Venetian style desserts and pastries. $75 per person. 

Turf Paradise

Rather than staring at a floral centerpiece for two hours, why not take mom to a gourmet Champagne brunch while enjoying a day of live horse racing? Turf Paradise is bringing back its Mother's Day Brunch on May 8, 2016. The Clubhouse Champagne Mother's Day Brunch is $37 per person (includes admission fee), and the more upscale Turf Club Champagne Brunch is $42 per person (includes admission fee). Everything is made from scratch and on site including, cakes, pastries and desserts. It's just the kind of food mom would make if she had a gourmet kitchen and a team of culinary professionals at her disposal. Reservations are required. Gates at Turf Paradise open on at 11 a.m. on Mother's Day. If you're skipping the brunch, Grandstand admission is still $2.
